The Nissan e-NV200 is the perfect work van for any environmentally conscious small business and with a custom conversion where the furniture is designed specifically to fit the size and shape of the van, there are so many possibilities for using the space.

When designing this conversion, we had to carefully consider how the homely hand-built campervan furniture would be protected from the dirt, moisture and dust created by Richard’s gardening equipment.

We designed two inter-locking benches with lift-up tops and slide out legs that form a super comfy bed, big enough for two adults. The bed can be bolted down into secure fixings points in the floor when the van is in camper mode, keeping it securely held in place while the van is being driven.

When transforming the van to ‘work mode’ the benches are unbolted and lifted out using the cut-out handles. We built an additional hard-wearing tool chest to fit in place of the rear bench, which can also be securely bolted in-place using the same fixing points in the floor.

The kitchen is permanently fixed as this features the gas hob, sink, fridge and houses the campervans electrical system. To protect this from any knocks or scratches from tools we made a hard-wearing waterproof cover that secures in place using popper fixings to attach to the walls.

The campervan has a bright, beachy interior, inspired by the deep blue waters and white sandy beaches of the Mediterranean. We combined this with a beautiful linen cab curtain with a seafoam print, adding a splash of colour in yellow ochre. This is also removeable and can be replaced by a machine washable polyester cab curtain when the van is in ‘work mode’. We selected an ultra-durable and super easy to clean fabric for the sofa cushion covers, these are also removeable and machine washable.

What really makes our campers special are the handmade homely touches. We love building one-off pieces like the oak plate rack and pallet wood table in this conversion, finished with a bright beachy palm tree.
